The Children’s Tent provides an outlet for kids of all ages to express their inner creativity.  (It also provides a respite for parents who are looking for a way to appease tired children!)  Led by experienced art educators, the projects are open-ended, allowing children to bring their own unique perspectives to the table. Past projects have included designing and decorating hats made from paper bags, creating mobiles from hangers and found objects, painting clay pots, and other activities.  Additionally, each year kids are given the opportunity to paint a tile which they are asked to leave behind. After the fest, the tiles are fired and installed in either Senior Citizens or Holstein Park. 

The Children’s Tent also offers entertainment.  In previous years we have featured guitarist and singer Julie Frost, bilingual story teller Ticha Huerta and Bucktown’s own Rock and Roll Dad.
