You can also watch our social media for the announcement.

  • You get to choose your shift time and request your role. We respect your schedule and will never change your shift time on you, but your role could change.

We do our best (and it works out 99% of the time!) to have people volunteer in the exact role they selected. However, on the weekend-of there’s a chance we’ll need you to step in somewhere else to help out and we greatly appreciate your flexibility and willingness to be flexible!

You’ll choose your role at volunteer registration. Until then, sign up to be notified when registration goes live.

  • Double-check the requirements you’ve been given or check with an advisor or counselor at your school to be sure. We’re an official, not-for-profit, 501c3 organization and are happy to sign off on any National Honor Society forms or whatever you need.

Volunteer Roles

  • Set Up

    SATURDAY MORNING

Early birds and can-do-attitudes, we need you! Arrive at 5:45 am to Holstein Park to help with set up all across the fest blocks. Help artists unpack and set up tents, help the food carts and other vendors get into place and make sure everything for the day is reay to go.

You will be walking around the fest for the entirety of your shift.

  • Tear Down

    SUNDAY EVENING

The more people we have to help, the quicker tear-down is! Ideally beginning at 6:45 and going til about 8:30 p.m.

Help the artists pack their vehicles so they can move their cars through the park and then exit. Help pack the fest administrative tents, fold tables, fold chairs, help clean up and try to leave the park cleaner than how we found it!

You will be walking around the fest for the entirety of your shift.

  • Artist Ambassador

    ALL WEEKEND

Artist Ambassadors are the MVPs of our volunteers! Stop by artist tents offering breaks to artists while they grab food, run to the restroom or just get a moment to themselves! You should watch their tent but will not be responsible for any sales. During your shift you can go shopping and have a ball. Just remember you’re representing BAF!

You will be walking around the fest for the entirety of your shift.

  • Kids Tent

    WEEKEND AFTERNOONS

Assist kids and their parents with simple art projects planned by our Kids Tent leaders (you don’t have to come up with stuff on the spot!). Make sure all are staying safe and help with set up or cleanup depending on your shift time.

Please let us know if you need to be seated for your shift so we can make sure to pair you with an appropriate counterpart volunteer.

  • Info Tent

    ALL WEEKEND

    This is Fest Headquarters!

You must be comfortable handling money and talking to a bunch of people! You’ll be selling BAF t-shirts, totes, can koozies, posters, and more. Plus this is the spot where everyone will come looking for the beer tent, to see a map, get directions their favorite artist, etc.

You will need to be on your feet for the majority of this shift.

  • Beer Greeter

    ALL WEEKEND

Make sure attendees do not bring alcoholic beverages out of the designated beer area at the fest. Everyone is generally super friendly about it and you shouldn’t expect a ton of confrontation or anything. You’re just chilling and making sure our fest follows city policies!

You may be seated for the duration of this shift.
